Massage Program Faculty
Bethanie Sand, LMP - Core Instructor
As a massage and bodywork practitioner, wellness consultant and educator, Bethanie's vision is to work with clients on their own personal journey with health and wellbeing. Her belief is that we are all capable of health and the ability to heal. She is a nationally licensed massage practitioner, certified ayurvedic wellness consultant and has studied craniosacral therapy extensively through the Upledger Institute and Bastyr University. She has been teaching yoga and wellness for over 8 years and loves sharing the wisdom of the body with her students.

Deb Zucker, ND - Core Instructor
Dr. Deb Zucker is a board certified and licensed naturopathic physician and massage practitioner. She is the founder of Vital Medicine, an integral medicine clinic and educational center, adjunct faculty at Bastyr University’s Health Psychology program, and a core instructor at Northwest Academy for the Healing Art’s Massage Licensing Program. Dr. Zucker has many years of group facilitation, teaching, counseling, and leadership experience. As she works with individuals and groups, Dr. Zucker brings the presence, humility, wisdom and compassion that can only come from one who is deeply committed to walking her talk, sincerely living the medicine she is offering in the world. Her private practice specialties include counseling, life coaching, biofeedback, craniosacral therapy, and physical medicine.

Mary Wiener, MPT, BS - Core Instructor
A career in physical therapy with a focus on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) has brought Mary to the world of education. Mary has provided clinical and community presentations on ALS across Washington State. Her work with The ALS Association Evergreen Chapter from 2000-2007 included support group facilitation, home accessibility assessments, body mechanics instruction, and durable medical equipment resourcing. In the classroom, Mary pursues a collaborative experience. She supports students with realistic expectations for balancing relationships, personal care and the demands of school. |
Mona Fahoum, ND - Core Instructor
As a naturopathic family practitioner, Dr. Mona’s interests and specialties include homeopathy, diet and nutrition, botanical medicine and physical medicine. She views healing as a dynamic process, unique to each person, with different treatments appropriate for different patients. These philosophies allow Dr. Mona the flexibility to move between modalities in treating illnesses from the common cold to diabetes, hypertension and chronic disease as well as equipping patients for disease prevention and optimal well-being.

Sean Miller, LMP, D. Hom - Core Instructor
As a holistic healthcare practitioner and educator, Sean specializes in manual therapies and flower essence homeopathy, with a demographical emphasis on pain management, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Sean utilizes an integrative approach to healing musculoskeletal pain, believing that the body and mind must be in complete balance for patients to fully heal from pain and trauma.These theories are reflected in Sean’s private practice as well as his classroom with a uniquely energetic and integrated teaching style creating a welcoming learning environment in which to grow.

Shelley Cathrea-Roy, CCSP, CSCS
Dr. Cathrea-Roy, is a Belltown based Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. This makes her uniquely qualified to work with active patients, their related injuries and training needs. Dr. Cathrea-Roy has been involved in public speaking and teaching since 2000, beginning with assistant teaching in the neuromusculoskeletal classes at Western States Chiropractic College, and working as a clinical assistant aiding 4th year students in their patient care and transition out into the world as physicians. Since moving to Seattle, she has been involved in several conferences, more notably, working with attorneys on continuing education regarding chiropractic care and personal injury cases for the Washington State Trial Lawyer's Association.
Dr. Cathrea-Roy's educational and clinical background, allows her to bring forth not only current research, but a hands on perspective on how new treatment protocols are affecting patient care.
Kim Hartley, LMP
Kim is a 1990 graduate of Brian Utting and has been practicing massage for 19 years. She began her study of lomilomi right out of massage school and has taken over 2000 hours of continuing education in lomilomi. Her teachers include Shawn LaSala Kimmel, Aupuni Iwi Ula, Daniel Albers, Nancy Kahalewai, Aunty Margaret Machado, Mark Lamore, Mahealani Henry, Dougie McKeague, Wayne Powell, Dr. Maka 'ala Yates. Kim's passion for lomilomi is apparent in her teaching style. She has a big heart full of Aloha, and an easygoing relationship with her students using praise, support and excellent cues to help her students master the work.
Drake Ewing, L.Ac.
Drake earned a Masters degree from Bastyr University and is licensed to practice acupuncture in Washington. He is certified as an acupuncture detoxification specialist and has spent time studying and honing his skills in China. His reflexology training began seven years ago and he has been teaching over the last four. Drake uses a fun and dynamic style when he teaches and his goal is simple, "to make the information useful and usable". He strives to ensure that each student understands the material and learns the techniques, thereby building confidence in themselves and their ability.
Lilith Krueger, OMD, L.Ac., LMP
Lilith has fifteen years of clinical experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine and thirty-five years in classical Tokujiro Namikoshi Shiatsu. Her background includes experience in not only her private acupuncture clinic, but also as the in-house Acupuncturist and Tui-Na specialist at one of the ten most exclusive private athletic clubs and spas in the country, The Spa at Gainey Village in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as within an integrated medical practice with Phoenix's top urological surgeons. Lilith is currently the general manager of Z&Z Herbal Spa in Redmond, Washington.
