Continuing Education Policy & Procedures
At Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, professional continuing education experiences in a safe and respectful environment. Please review the following policies before registering for any course.
1. Inclement Weather Policy
We prioritize the safety of our students and instructors. In the event of inclement weather (e.g., snow, ice, flooding, or extreme conditions):

Course cancellations or delays will be communicated via email and/or text as early as possible.

If a class is canceled due to weather, students will be offered a rescheduled date or a full refund.

If the school remains open but you feel it is unsafe to travel, please contact the CE coordinator prior to class start time. Individual accommodations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
2. Refund and Cancellation Policy (Student-Initiated)
We understand that plans can change. Our student cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

Full Refund: Available if cancellation is received 7 or more days prior to the course start date.

Partial Refund (50%): Available for cancellations 3–6 days before the course.

No Refund: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class or no-shows are not eligible for a refund.

Transfers: If available, students may transfer their registration to another course date (one time only) with at least 72 hours’ notice.
All refund requests must be submitted via email to admission@nw-academy.com. Refunds are processed within 7–10 business days.
3. Course Cancellation Policy (School-Initiated)
Courses may be canceled by Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts due to low enrollment, instructor emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances.

Students will be notified as early as possible via email or phone.

In the event of cancellation, students may choose to receive:

A full refund, or
-
A credit/transfer toward a future course.

We strive to minimize cancellations and will always make every effort to accommodate affected students.
4. Attendance Policy
Full attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion and continuing education credit.

Late arrivals (15 minutes or more) may not be admitted to class.
-
Early departures may result in forfeiture of CE credit and/or certificate.
-
Make-up options are not available for CE courses unless explicitly stated.
5. General Expectations
We foster a collaborative and respectful learning environment. All students are expected to:

Arrive on time and prepared.
-
Participate actively in course activities.
-
Dress appropriately for a professional classroom or clinic setting.
-
Refrain from disruptive behavior or use of electronic devices during instruction.
-
Communicate respectfully with instructors and classmates.
6. Student Behavioral Expectations
Professional behavior is required at all times. Unacceptable conduct includes, but is not limited to:

Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate comments.
-
Physical aggression, intimidation, or disruptive verbal behavior.
-
Refusal to follow reasonable directions from instructors or staff.
Any student who engages in behavior that disrupts the learning environment or violates professional standards may be:

Warned or asked to leave the course.
-
Denied a certificate of completion and CE credit.
-
Refused enrollment in future courses.
No refunds will be issued in cases where a student is removed from a course due to behavioral issues.
7. Professional Conduct and CE Compliance
Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts complies with all applicable state and national standards for massage therapy continuing education.

Students are responsible for verifying CE applicability with their licensing board.

Certificates are awarded only upon full participation and completion of any required evaluations.

All instructors are qualified professionals with relevant credentials.
