Make-Up Class Hour Procedure

Students may make up missed class hours by attending another scheduled class within the same subject area. Attendance at the exact topic or lesson that was missed is not required; however, the make-up class must be within the same course subject.

To complete make-up hours:

  1. Review the class calendar below to identify a scheduled class that fits your availability and corresponds to the subject area requiring make-up hours.
  2. Print a copy of the Make-Up Hour Attendance Sheet before attending the make-up class.
  3. Attend the selected class and have the instructor sign the attendance sheet to verify your participation.
  4. Submit the completed and signed attendance sheet to the course instructor for the class in which the absence occurred.
  5. The course instructor will review the documentation and add the approved make-up hours to your attendance record.

*Important Make-Up Policy

All make-up hours must be completed before the course end date unless prior authorization has been granted by the instructor. Hours cannot be applied after a course has ended without advance arrangements and written instructor approval.

If you anticipate a planned absence, it is your responsibility to make arrangements in advance to complete any missed hours before the course concludes.

Failure to complete all required make-up hours by the end of the course term will result in the student being required to retake the entire course. Any outstanding missed hours remaining after the course has concluded may not be made up retroactively without prior instructor approval and will prevent successful completion of the course.

Students are responsible for accurately tracking their attendance, obtaining all required instructor signatures, and submitting completed attendance documentation in a timely manner. Failure to submit properly completed attendance records may result in make-up hours not being credited toward course completion.

Make-Up Exam Policy

Students who miss an exam due to an absence are responsible for arranging a make-up exam with the course instructor.

Whenever possible, make-up exams should be completed during another scheduled session of the same course. If this is not feasible, students must pay the applicable Make-Up Exam Fee using the payment link on this page and provide the instructor with proof of payment before an alternate exam date can be scheduled.

All make-up exams must be coordinated directly with the course instructor, who is responsible for approving and administering the exam.

Failure to complete the make-up exam before the end of the course term may result in failure of the course or the requirement to retake the course.

Student Clinic Make-Up Hours

Students who miss scheduled Student Clinic hours are responsible for completing all required make-up clinic hours to meet program graduation requirements. To arrange clinic make-up hours, students must contact the Clinic Instructor or Clinic Supervisor as soon as possible. Make-up dates and times are subject to clinic availability and instructor approval.

Students may not independently schedule make-up clinic hours and must receive prior authorization from the Clinic Instructor. All make-up clinic hours must be completed in accordance with clinic policies, procedures, and graduation requirements. Failure to complete required clinic make-up hours may result in delayed program completion and graduation.
